DAVID S Canon EOS 7D Mark II APS-C Lenses Irix 45mm f/1.4 Dragonfly: Irix 45mm F1.4 old school sharpness.
5 out of 5 stars
The lens is razor sharp. At F1.4 the depth of field is paper thin. I use " catch in focus" method and the firmness of the focusing barrel is a plus IMO. It's heavy and well built, and the balance was good with my K-1. I'm an old 2 1/4 film shooter so I'm used to working at a slower pace and manually focusing. If you are in a hurry I can not recommend. If you are patient and like to craft your images in camera, you will be very pleased.

Jason Canon EOS 7D Mark II Lenses Irix 11mm f/4.0: Very nice lens
5 out of 5 stars
I am surprised by how well built this cheaper Firefly version of the lens is; it feels robust. The images that come out of this lens are sharp even wide open at f/4. Additionally, it's very easy to get your subject in focus with a very long rotation on the focus ring which is also very smooth to turn. I would definitely recommend this lens if one is interested in a very wide angle lens for their full frame camera especially considering it's much cheaper than the Canon 11-24 f/4L lens; as long as you're ok with manually focusing which isn't a problem as 11mm provides a deep depth of field. Overall I'm very happy with this lens.

joel Canon EOS 7D Mark II Lenses Irix 15mm f/2.4: Really a wonderfull lens
5 out of 5 stars
This is a very easy lens tu use, either on FF or DX camera. The nice thing is how easy it is to be dead on the subject (or almost) by just looking at the distance scale, and after 2,5m distance, you basically are always on top of it. The lens is light and the focus ring lock is a little something nice to have for astro photography if you do it a lot and the barrel became a little loose over the years. So far not a problem after a few month of use for sure. I would say the lens have a sweet IQ right off at f2.4. At F8 it is super nice once adjusted if it needs to be. Bare in mind that you can adjust a the lens with micro adjustment. It is not easy to do and you can make it worst, but for my lens, i did it and i went from always a little behind the subject to right on it.

5 out of 5 stars
Love using this IRIX 15 f/2.5 lens with the FTZ adapter on my Z6. It's super easy to manually focus. It has the connections to let you control aperture and you get full EXIF data. It's super sharp, easy, and fun to use with weather sealing to boot . All of that for a very reasonable price !

William Canon EOS 7D Mark II Lenses Irix 45mm f/1.4 Dragonfly: What a surprise!
5 out of 5 stars
I like taking pictures in museums and in many cases a flash simply won't work and most low mm lenses are wide to ultra wide angle so when I saw the IRIX 45mm F/1.4 lens for my canon I decided to give it a try because I have had a swiss watch years ago that never failed to give perfect time. I got the package from B&H and when I opened the box discovered the beast of a lens. I put it on my camera and took some test shots at different f/stops and was thrilled. So much so that just last Saturday I shot a small outdoor wedding as a favor to my daughter. I put the IRIX on my oldest canon (EOS T1i) and took another camera and lens. The IRIX was a pleasure to use and the pictures were as perfect as they could get making it almost impossible to tell if the pictures were taken by my auto focus or the IRIX manual focus. I am so happy I got this great lens from B&H Photo.
Anonymous Canon EOS 7D Mark II Lenses Irix 15mm f/2.4: Great lens but had to re-calibrate
5 out of 5 stars
Great lens, built well and takes great pictures but as the extended user manual states you may have to re-calibrate it.On mine when i turned the focus ring past infinity the lens became more in focus. I followed the instructions keeping the focus ring locked on infinity until the focus was dead on while the ring was on infinity. The reason i still gave it a 5 star was because I knew about this before i bought the lens.

Tony Canon EOS 7D Mark II Lenses Irix Cine 150mm T3.0 Macro 1:1 (Feet): Great Quality & Value
5 out of 5 stars
I purchased the IRIX 15mm, 45mm, and 150mm as a set. The image quality is sharp and excellent, the focus and t-stop rings work smoothly and quietly, and the build quality is first class and aesthetically beautiful. I particularly like the water sealing most other brand lenses in this price range do not have. Focus breathing varies between the lenses but minimally and I'm quite happy with them. As other reviewers have mentioned, the curved lens cap is the only disadvantage, preventing positioning any lens face down on a surface with the lens cap on, but that's a minor issue against the superb overall package these lenses provide.
Ruaire Canon EOS 7D Mark II Lenses Irix 15mm f/2.4: Amazing
5 out of 5 stars
Absolutely love this lens, super sharp on the Pentax K1ii and really easy to focus. Was not to sure about this or the 11mm but decided on the 15mm as I thought the 11mm would be to wide and am glad I decided in the 15mm..especially since it accepts filters.

Van Canon EOS 7D Mark II Lenses Irix Cine 45mm T1.5 (Feet): True Cine Lens with unbeatable price
5 out of 5 stars
First of all, this is a sharp lens with all the features I look for in a cine prime - no noticeable focus breathing, nice long throw, and a solid build. The size is also nice - it's quite a bit smaller than my Sony primes or than other primes in the same price range. Once you factor in full frame coverage, you'd be spending an extra $5000 at least to match the quality in any other cine l
David Canon EOS 7D Mark II Lenses Irix 11mm f/4.0: Super Wide!
5 out of 5 stars
I've used this lens for a couple of years now, gotta say, it's a very sharp lens. I set the aperture at F8, turn the focus ring until it clicks at infinity, & I'm all set. Keep this thing level and you'll love the results. Using the Irix ND filters that slide in the back of the lens , allow for some interesting long exposures, without the use of expensive filter holders. Using with my D850 is a compelling combo. Don't use it as much as my 14mm or 20mm, but when you want everything in the frame, the Irix wins!

Piotr Canon EOS 7D Mark II Lenses Irix 15mm f/2.4: Good wide angle lens at infinity
4 out of 5 stars
On the plus side it takes reasonably sharp pics at infinity, though you have to make sure that you set the focus to infinity rather than past it. Taking pictures of the inside of a room is difficult. The Pentax K1's focus assist won't always detect when something is in focus, and moving the focus ring along the 5 degree angle between infinity and 1m is an exercise in patience. The click that is supposed to occur at infinity is also a bit difficult to detect. I am not a pro photographer at all, so I may come back and revise this review once I get better at using it or have something else to compare it to.

Bud S. Canon EOS 7D Mark II Lenses Irix 11mm f/4.0: Irix 11mm Firefly, super ultra wide, super lens
5 out of 5 stars
I didn't even realize there was a lens this wide that wasn't a fish eye. The difference between this and my Nikon 16-35 @ 16mm is staggering. I've used it in interior real estate and an air museum, it did good, I think it's pretty sharp but I haven't had that much time with it. I like the Nikon chip, it shows when it's in focus and the infinity "lock" works well. I think the build is pretty good, I'm anxious to use it more. I'd buy it again, no problem. Can't use filters on the front, so I bought the gel filters and they're OK. I used the 3 stop and it was fine. 4 stars on picture quality because I haven't used it that much. I think it will be fine.

FAQ Canon EOS 7D Mark II DSLR Camera

Is the 7D Mark II worth it?

The metering system delivers correctly exposed images in a wide range of conditions. Noise is also controlled well, colors are pleasantly rendered and images have an impressive amount of detail. The newer EOS 90D matches its speed and offers 50% more megapixels, but the EOS 7D Mark II is still worth taking seriously.

How old is the Canon 7D Mark II?

The Canon 7D Mark II was released in November 2014 and is sold in both a body-only model with a retail price of $1,799 or with the EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens for $2,149.

Is the Canon 7D Mark 2 full frame?

No, it is not a full frame camera, but then again lenses like the 18-35mm f/1.8 from Sigma make up for it quite nicely.

Does 7D Mark II shoot 4K?

One feature you won't find on the 7D II is 4K video recording. It's a little bit surprising given the number of recent cameras that support this feature, but it doesn't mean that the Mark II isn't a capable video camera. However, if you really, truly do need 4K you'll need to look elsewhere.
