JASON F. Sony Alpha 7 II Lenses Irix 150mm f/2.8 Dragonfly Macro 1:1: Great Lens for the Price
5 out of 5 stars
I got this because I am kind of tired of using extension tubes. 150mm is a good focal length and f/2.8 lets in a lot of light. It is manual focus, which makes shooting handheld a bit difficult as the focus depth is very shallow when close up to a subject. This will be much better with a tripod and focus stacking. It arrived from Adorama as promised in good packaging. The lens and accessories were in good shape. There is currently not a lightroom correction profile for this lens,

I love this lens and I use it a macro and also as a regular 150mm. The lens is sharp and and the focus is smooth and accurate. And it looks great. Mike
ROBERT W. Sony Alpha 7 II Lenses Irix 150mm f/2.8 Dragonfly Macro 1:1: great lens

Wonderful as both a macro and a telephoto. As a macro, the stand off distance is helpful in getting light to the subject.

I had the critically-acclaimed Tamron SP 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro 1:1 VC USD lens; was never all that thrilled with it. I even had it get internal debris TWICE, though Tamron removed debris both times without hassle and at no cost to me. But once I got my Nikon Z7 I found the Tamron caused the Z7 to do weird things (such as a bunch of weird clunking sounds in the Z7 each time I turned it on with the Tamron 90 mounted). So when I learned of this Irix 150 I decided to try it. I am SO glad I did. I have now sold the Tamron with no regrets. I have not yet used the Irix much at all, but on its maiden voyage (into sub-freezing weather, with my fingers [and brain] moving slowly) it was super easy to use and seems to give superb results. I especially appreciate that the collar has an Arca-swiss compatible foot; fits on my RRS BH-40 ball head & clamp perfectly. Last note: the manual focusing turns through 270 degrees, and is extremely smooth; it is precisely what I want and need in a lens like this. I am very happy to add this lens to my kit!

John Sony Alpha 7 II Cine Lenses Irix 150mm f/2.8 Dragonfly Macro 1:1: Almost perfect

I've had this lens now for about 3 weeks. It produces amazingly sharp images. The size of the focusing ring allows for minute adjustments. It would be the prefect lens if it had autofocus and image stabilization. In spite of those drawbacks, used on a tripod it is amazing.

Van Sony Alpha 7 II Cine Lenses Irix Cine 150mm T3.0 Macro 1:1 (Feet): Great macro lens, can't beat the price
5 out of 5 stars
I've been shooting with this lens on my RED Helium, but I also use it for stills with my A7III. The focus throw is smooth and long, and there is little breathing between short distances or between long distances (although, as expected, if you pull from a couple inches away to infinity, there is a transition where it breathes heavily). It feels well made and the images are very sharp.
Brian Sony Alpha 7 II Cine Lenses Irix 150mm f/2.8 Dragonfly Macro 1:1: Longest macro lens I know of
5 out of 5 stars
There may be a Nikon 200mm macro lens, but it has got to be expensive; this one is very sharp and priced so right! It is not just a great value for the price. It is a terrific lens priced beautifully. The beauty of a longer focal length macro is that you don't have to get nearly as close to your subject as you would with a 35-50mm macro, or a normal lens with extension tubes. I returned a Tamron macro lens that would not work with my Z6, and then bought this. I use it with my FTZ adapter. A keeper.
Brandon Sony Alpha 7 II Cine Lenses Irix Cine 15mm T2.6 (Feet): amazing look and solid build

I really enjoy this lens. The look of the image is sharp and feels amazing. The build is tanky. No regrets.
Jeremy Sony Alpha 7 II Cine Lenses Irix 150mm f/2.8 Dragonfly Macro 1:1: Great lens with small problems
5 out of 5 stars
The image quality of this lens is fantastic! Definitely the sharpest lens I own. Colors are rich and mostly accurate, but I find myself removing blues in post. Being able to adjust the resistance on the focus ring is a huge help, especially since the depth of field is so shallow. There are a couple of issues. I've had this for several months and the lens hood has started to loosen. I'm not sure if the hood is worn or if it's the mount. Anyway, there's a noticeable amount of play, and it rattles. The second problem is that the rubber grip on the focus ring seems to be getting looser. I've had the grip slide up on the lens and slip on the ring on hot days. It hasn't become a problem during regular use yet, but it seems that it will. Still, this lens is fantastic for macro wildlife! These shots I've attached were all taken with a Pentax KP

A great macro for Pentax K mount. The tripod foot fits my Arca head nicely. The F2.8 aperture makes for easy focusing. I would recommend this lens. The only complaint is the focus ring has to be turned a lot from macro to infinity.
Florian Sony Alpha 7 II Cine Lenses Irix 150mm f/2.8 Dragonfly Macro 1:1: My first macro lens, used for more than macro photography
5 out of 5 stars
I am new to photography, and I am not very good at it. However, I am interested with a niche related subject: astrophotography. With the equipment I have I can do both widefield and very narrow shots of the night sky, and I wanted something in between that I could also use on a day-to-day basis. This was the winner from all my options. Opening the box, the build and materials quality is above my expectations. As far as macros go, I still have lots to learn. The main reason I bought this lens for is astrophotography, and doing this it really shines. Shooting wide open the distortions are minimal, but stopping down to f/4 there is no noticeable fringing or coma, and the vignetting is manageable. Manual focus is not something that bothers me, but the extremely shallow depth of field did surprise me, so it took me some time to get used to it. All-in-all, for my experience level and the applications I use this lens in, it really provides more than I know what to do with.
Shaun Sony Alpha 7 II Cine Lenses Irix Cine 21mm T1.5 (Feet): A much needed upgrade

This lens is truly a gem. Superb craftsmanship, sharpness and color rendition., it's a wide angle lens with very little distortion. Pulling focus is a breeze with this lens. With added accessories it has turned my BGH1 into a full-fledged cinema rig.
Gareth Sony Alpha 7 II Cine Lenses Irix 150mm f/2.8 Dragonfly Macro 1:1: Awesome lens
5 out of 5 stars
Great lens! My first impressions were of how well it's made. As with any macro lens, it's best used with a tripod and shutter release to minimize movement/blur. I did notice more lens shake due to the longer focal length. I love the fact that I don't have to get as close to the subject I'm photographing and have a little more reach. Color rendition and sharpness is great. This lens is as good as, if not better than any other lenses I have owned including a Canon L series 100mm macro. I am very happy with this lens. This is a quality lens at a reasonable price. Thanks to B&H Photo for their outstanding service!

Robert Sony Alpha 7 II Cine Lenses Irix Cine 15mm T2.6 (Feet): May be my new favorite lens!
5 out of 5 stars
Feels solid, but isn't overly heavy. Image quality is great and distortion is reasonable. I shoot it both full frame and S35 and it handles both well. As others have said, it's true that the lens cap is wonky. Apparently they have a fixed one that you can order separately and hopefully that's what will ship with new copies of the lens. I use it via an adapter and did have a little trouble finding a friendly one. Fotodiox PL-EF did NOT work. I eventually went with some no-names on eBay that did.

Will F. Sony Alpha 7 II Cine Lenses Irix 150mm f/2.8 Dragonfly Macro 1:1: Sharp, Rock-solid, Beautiful
5 out of 5 stars
I highly recommend this lens for anyone interested in macro photography. It's sharp, easy to use, and very well constructed -- not to mention beautiful. It *can* also be used for portraits, but bear in mind it's manual-focus-only with a very narrow depth of field. A bit heavy for handheld shots, but no more so than other lenses in its class.
Michael Sony Alpha 7 II Cine Lenses Irix Cine 15mm T2.6 (Feet): IRIX 15mm

I use this coupled with my BMPCC 6K Pro. Like most cinema lenses, this is massive. Be prepared for a workout if you are going handheld. Gearing is very smooth, although a bit stiff if not using a focus wheel. I own all of the cinema lenses and two of the three have decent magnetic hoods, while one does not appear to be as strong. This doesn't affect me as I utilize a matte box. Like most have stated, the lense cover is complete garbage. Pops off for no apparent reason.
