The new Irix 21mm T1.5 provides a unique, Irix cinematic image for full-frame. This lens, just like all Irix lenses is weather sealed against humidity, rain and dust, which will allow you to work in any conditions. Fast T1.5 aperture and very low distortion and low focus breathing. The new 21mm T1.5 is available in most standard cinema mounts: Canon EF and Canon RF, Arri PL, Sony E, MFT, L-mount and Nikon Z.
Canon EF mount is on backorder and will be shipped around the end of this month (May 2022)

The “Irix Look”
Cine lenses are designed to provide substance. They are supposed to have that “special look”, an unidentified special thing that makes the movie stand out. Irix lenses come with their own cinematic look, the “Irix look”.
Round-shaped blades and a shallow depth of field will cut your subject out from the background. The unique bokeh draws the contours of your subject to make them stand out. The soft highlights and subtle mist will smooth out those light streaks that show up on other lenses, providing stunning footage in every frame


Catch every moment
The 21mm lens gives freedom to your creativity. It’s wide, but not wide enough to cause distortion. With this focal length, all proportions are kept and your subject will look exactly like you see them compared to wider lenses. With those characteristics, the lens works great for tight spaces, where we need to shoot, for example, people.
All Irix cine lenses are designed with unified standards. Similar weights, 86mm front filter thread on most lenses, and same location of focus and iris gears. The signature Magnetic Mount System allows for easy mounting of the Irix Edge MMS filters on the 15mm, 30mm, 45mm, and 150mm lenses.
Whether cruising with your gimbal between dancing people during a wedding or shooting an action scene, where we want to get really close, the image will look like many more narrow lenses. Getting this close was for example in the movie Revenant. There DOP Emmanuel Lubezki was able to get really dynamic shots and make the viewer feel like they are right there with the actors thanks to lenses of similar focal lengths as 21mm.
The fast T1.5 opens up unlimited possibilities to shoot in any light conditions without going too high on your ISO, also providing a bokeh that will stand out and the weather sealing protects the lens in any weather conditions.


The T1.5 set
This 21mm will be our widest lens matching the 30mm and 45mm with T1.5, allowing for consistent shooting on a wide-open aperture. With such a wide lens, you can achieve amazing bokeh and easily match color, contrast, and brightness with the 30mm and 45mm.
Ready for any shooting conditions
Irix lenses are designed to work in any weather conditions that humans can handle. It doesn’t matter if your new film will be made in a very hot and humid jungle, in the desert or the snow of the North Pole. The lenses are resistant to rain, sand, snow or dust. Engraved markings on the lens have been filled with UV-reactive paint, which makes filming in difficult lighting conditions much easier.

The new 21mm T1.5 also comes with the new flat design cap, just like the 30mm T1.5
