The Irix Edge Hard Gradual Filter ND8 is a filter where the transition between full transparency and the shaded area is narrow. This type of filter works well for scenes where the horizon is flat and regular such as the sea or wide-open plains. In this situation, the upper part of the image – the sky – is normally brighter than the rest of the frame, and you can cover this this part with the tainted part of the filter.

Both surfaces of the glass filter are covered by the multilayer anti-reflection and water/oil-proof coating providing high light transmission and natural colours.

Functional Filter Case

All Irix Edge 100mm filters come with a functional Filter Case made from rigid foam mounted on a silicone frame, and fitted with a magnetic lock, so you can be sure that your filter is secure during transport or storage.

Compatible with Irix Edge IFH-100-PRO Filter Holder

All Irix Edge square filters are compatible with our Irix Edge Filter holders. The Irix Edge IFH-100-PRO filter holder comes with a built-in (removable) CPL filter and will let you use two square filters together. The holder comes with an adjustable knob to regulate the CPL.

The filter holder is compatible with square filters of 2mm and 1.1mm thickness.

Transport your filters in the Irix Edge Traveller Case

The Irix Edge Traveller Filter Case is compatible with all 100mm square filters, as well as with the Irix Edge IFH-100 filter holder.
